Hello my lovelies!!
I want to talk to you all about my favourite show, American Horror Story. It is one of a very few shows I follow, and the ONLY ONE that I watch on a weekly basis (instead of waiting for the season to be done to watch it all).
It’s currently on season two, and I’m finding it just as awesome as the first one. It’s set up to essentially be a mini-series, in that each season has different characters and nothing to do with the last plot. It’s kind of hard to talk about without giving too much away, but I’ll do my best.
The first season was focused on the Harmon family who moves into a haunted house. The family – mom Vivian (Connie Britton), dad Ben (Dylan McDermott), and daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) – begin to encounter creepier and creepier behavior as the inhabitants of the house do their best to drive them crazy. Their neighbour, Constance (Jessica Lange), also does a fantastic job of keeping up the crazy.
The writers do a great job of keeping you guessing, and there is more WTF moments in this season than in ten years of most other shows. I was left with my mouth open in shock at the end of most episodes.
Honestly, my favourite character was Tate (Evan Peters). He was all kinds of fucked up, but he was just so vulnerable and I wanted to make it better for him. Well, he was also murderous and evil, but you know, whatever. And I do believe he honestly loved Violet as much as he was able to.
The second season is only four episodes in, and so far, it’s pretty freaking fantastic (and retarded)!!
It’s got a whole new cast of character, although many of the actors have returned this season. Thankfully, Evan Peters is back, this time playing Kit, an patient at the asylum who is thought to be a prolific serial killer… but who claims aliens did it??
Then there’s Lana (Sarah Paulson), the lesbian reporter who ended up in the asylum for being nosey, and who totally believes Kit is guilty, until her lover is killed. And then there’s Shelley (Chloë Sevigny), the nymphomaniac who’ll do anyone. And now they’ve added in Franka Potente as Anne Frank – yes, with the diary Anne Frank – who shows up in the latest episode.
Those in charge are just as nuts, if not more. There’s Jessica Lange’s Sister Jude and Lily Rabe‘s Sister Mary Eunice, who both have secrets to hide – and, in Sister Mary’s case, are actually possessed. And let’s not forget crazy, fucked up, torture-loving and experimenter Dr. Arthur Arden (James Cromwell). I’m not gonna lie, I hope before the end of this season, bad things happen to him. Very, very bad things.
I couldn’t find a promo for the season, so that was a promo for the first episode. It gets way more intense, trust me.
I feel like if you like watching scary movies, and love the feeling of being scared, then this show is for you. It is seriously the freakiest, craziest, most original show on TV right now, in my opinion. I haven’t come across anything else like it on TV.
Seriously, give it a try. I guarantee you’ll be hooked!! Or possibly, just really freaked out!!
